Day 17 Ephesians 1

DAY 17
“having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:5-6

The foundation of this chapter, and the reason it is my favorite, is the explanation of the profound truth of who we are in Jesus Christ. When you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord, you were adopted. You were given a new, accepted identity. It is permanently who you are because you are in Jesus.

Let’s just have a quick reminder. In Christ, you are …

Purchased (7)
Prudent (8)
Purposed
(9)
Preserved [for all eternity] (10)
Predestined (11)
Praised [as His chosen example to showcase His glory] (12)
Present [in His presence always] (13-4)

That is who you are. That is who you are at every moment of every day of your life in Christ.

That should have an impact on how you view yourself. It should have an impact on the choices you make because of who you are in Jesus. It should impact the vision that you have for your future.

Paul will begin to cast a vision for our futures in a few verses, but take today and just consider the magnitude of what it means to be “in Christ.”
